Jenna Johnson’s compelling lead vocals\, paired with the driving force of Alexis Artiga’s guitar and vocals\, Devin Corbach’s relentless drumming\, and Malcom Artiga’s solid bass lines\, creates a sound that’s both energetic and deeply resonant. Their debut album\, “Therapy Sessions\,” released on June 21\, 2024\, is a testament to their commitment\, featuring powerful singles like “Safe With Me\,” “Sara Tune In\,” and “Strangers.” Cawston isn’t just a band; they’re a community solidifying their place in the Canadian music scene. \n@Chilioband\nBorn in the prairies\, raised on chaos—CHILIØ has been bending genres and breaking expectations since 2016. Based in Calgary\, this band of five beautifully strange dudes fuses pop punk energy with psychedelic and dream-pop textures\, drawing from Sum 41\, Tame Impala\, and RHCP. The result? Cosmic\, cascading\, and angelic tones that hit like nostalgia yet feel fresh as hell.\nTheir debut LP\, “(un)orthodox)” (2022)\, became the official soundtrack to the TELUS documentary Small Town Strength\, earning a Rosie Award nomination and praise from Tuned Up\, V13\, and Yack! Magazine for its fearless sonic fusion. Finn McKenty (Punk Rock MBA) spotlighted their single “Fractals” for its genre-crossing appeal. Their sound isn’t just for one generation—it’s for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider searching for their people. \n@Yearoveryear\nVancouver’s Year Over Year crafts a distinct sound\, merging the introspective vulnerability of Midwest emo with the dynamic energy of rock. Their songs\, filled with soaring melodies and earnest lyrics\, like singles “Laughing” and “Hiding” explore themes of change and growth\, resonating with anyone navigating life’s transitions. \n@Earlyworkband\nFrom the humble beginnings of classified ads and garage jams\, Early Work has emerged\, bringing a fresh take on alt-emo. Their music is a blend of thoughtful songwriting\, powerful melodies\, and a polished DIY sound. \n19+ \n  \nTICKETS: https://app.ticketowl.io/ZdZ8BgZyALQFb7ef/event/Z9XeI8hjUCRhXhbh?

SUMMARY:The Secret Kacy Miller Tour
DESCRIPTION:Doors 6:30 Show 7:00pm Minors Allowed Accompanied by an Adult \nTICKETS: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1304989210859 \nA triple headline bill with The Secret Beach\, Kacy Lee Anderson (of Kacy & Clayton\, The Waverly Pickers) and Shaela Miller. \n  \nThe Secret Kacy Miller Tour brings together The Secret Beach\, Kacy Lee Anderson (of Kacy & Clayton and The Waverly Pickers)\, and Shaela Miller — a triple-threat of songwriting brilliance and sonic mischief. Sometimes they’ll play solo\, sometimes they’ll jump in on each other’s sets\, and sometimes they’ll surprise even themselves. Expect harmonies\, heartbreakers\, foot-stompers\, and the kind of moments you only get when friends hit the road together. \nIt’s independent. It’s unpredictable. It’s a night you’ll be glad you didn’t stay home for. \nThe Secret Beach: \nThe Secret Beach is the new collaborative musical project fronted by songwriter/producer Micah Erenberg. Micah has collaborated with\, written\, produced and engineered for artists such as Kacy & Clayton\, Lee Ranaldo & Zoon\, Boy Golden\, The Waverley Pickers\, Fontine and Marlon Williams. He has worked with producer/engineers such as Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith\, Dr. Dog)\, Rob Fraboni (Bob Dylan\, The Band\, Rolling Stones\, Beach Boys) and Sam Plecker (Father John Misty\, Local Natives).\nThe project is an ever-shifting group of musicians orbiting around Micah’s songs\, with a new album out this August titled “We Were Born Here\, What’s Your Excuse?”. The album was crafted under the guidance of legendary producer Rob Fraboni and is teeming with home-grown warmth; its 16 tracks casually unfurl spools of intimate texture\, hushed melodies\, and a wholly inviting atmosphere that puts the listener virtually in the same room as these timeless numbers. The songs – many of them barely cracking the two-minute mark – fly effortlessly by. \nKacy Lee Anderson \nKacy Lee Anderson is an enchantress of song whose evocative voice—both haunting and comforting—has made her a beloved figure in contemporary folk and country music. Living in Canada’s darkest Dark-Sky preserve on her family cattle ranch in Saskatchewan\, Anderson has become a celestial wonder in her own right. She delivers spellbinding performances\, whether playing solo\, with her band The Waverley Pickers\, or as one half of the acclaimed Canadian duo Kacy & Clayton. \nHer most recent work\, Early Hits (2025)\, recorded with The Waverley Pickers\, showcases her songwriting with a masterful union of sonic nostalgia and modern sensibility—channeling the timeless storytelling tradition of artists like Sandy Denny\, Iris DeMent\, and Merle Haggard. \nShe has shared the stage with notable artists such as The Deep Dark Woods\, The Sadies\, The Secret Beach\, Richard Thompson\, and Wilco. Jeff Tweedy of Wilco\, a Grammy winner\, has also been a strong advocate for her career\, producing two of her albums. Over the past decade\, Anderson has toured extensively\, opening for Ray LaMontagne\, William Prince\, Colter Wall\, The Decemberists\, Bahamas\, and others. She has also performed at renowned festivals such as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and MerleFest and been nominated for multiple JUNO awards. \nShaela Miller \nShaela Miller’s years spent doing good country music work are safely etched into public consciousness. A turn at this point is by no means an undoing\, but a welcome lead into new territory. Miller’s fast-rising path is set to be amplified by a sonic reintroduction to one of Alberta’s best voices and most sincere stage personalities. \nOn the heels of a 1st Place Project WILD finish\, years of top-tier folk festival circuiting\, TV placements like HBO’s True Blood\, and many other accomplishments\, Shaela is set for much more in 2023. \nEarly dreams stay in the blood. Pulsating drum beats meet ring-spun synthesizers balanced by steel guitar professions as the listener is introduced to a captivating story. It’s one of a dual world – a binary of New Wave and Classic Country – the expression that reared a young songwriter years ago. For Shaela\, it’s a self-indulgent trip back to a world of music she’s been patiently waiting to explore. The listener should take comfort in feeling a little tense\, but this is no sleight of hand. It’s all from the deep well of emotion where Shaela lives as a songwriter. Where dreams go unspent\, the host can be left to wither. Take a small comfort knowing that Shaela is guiding her own career path as every artist should – with no fear of expectations. \nTICKETS: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1304989210859

SUMMARY:Mother Sun with Sam Tudor at The Effie
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/mother-sun-sam-tudor-live-at-the-effie-arts-collective-tickets-1339184650339 \nMother Sun create melodic and adventurous rock n roll from the sprawling interior desert of Kamloops BC Canada. The four piece has shaped their sound around idiosyncratic songs while burrowing in realms of dreamy psych\, trippy folk\, motorik power pop and jazz influenced art rock. The band released their fourth record ‘Meadow 6’ via Earth Libraries and Divine Bovine Records in October 2024. Mother Sun toured Japan in support of the album in September and October 2024\, playing 14 shows in small venues around the country\, with Canadian tour dates to follow in spring 2025. The band has toured western Canada consistently since 2018\, appearing at numerous festivals such as Khatsalano (Vancouver)\, Big Winter Classic (Calgary) Between the Peaks (Rossland)\, and Treefort (Boise\, Idaho). The band has had several songs appear on Showtime TV series Shameless and shared stages with Dead Ghosts\, Vinyl Williams\, the Sadies\, the Breathing Effect and Ghostwoman. \nSam Tudor is both an individual and a project involving a group of friends in Canada. The underpinnings of the songs are genre-less; jazz players join forces with Eno inspired beats while acoustic guitars meet distorted synths. What unifies the project is Tudor’s distinct voice: a sandy\, melancholic narrator\, leaning in close with confessional and cathartic writing. The band’s live show is reverent and at times bombastic – a celebration of community done with an easy virtuosity born from years playing music together. The band’s latest release is their 2024 EP Hidden Minute. Their most recent full length album\, Two Half Words\, was released in 2021. Tudor and the band have toured in Canada\, Japan\, the United States and more. They have received coverage and acclaim from VICE Magazine\, KEXP Radio\, Exclaim Magazine\, CBC Afterdark\, The Vancouver Sun and others.

A pianist in his beginnings then self-\ntaught on the guitar\, the originality of his style makes him one of today’s\ngreatest guitarists and composers for the instrument. Also called “The\nPrince of DADGAD”\, the Rose d’Or of the Montreux Festival\, elected\nBest Guitarist of World Music by the readers of Guitar Player Magazine!\nHis triple album “Encore” won the Grand Prix of the Independent Music\nAwards in the category Best Live Album… Since his first performances in\n1974 in France\, the guitarist has sold half a million albums and given\nthousands of concerts around the globe\, both solo and through\nnumerous collaborations.\nPierre Bensusan is an adventurer of unusual lands. His almost “sacred”\nmusic is an intimate and orchestral hymn\, a solo crossing on a multi-shell\nLowden guitar subjected to the natural elements with sound molecules\nand finger pulp on an ebony fingerboard for open tuning – an unique and\ntransparent technique\, under the fingers of an adventurous pilgrim.\n“Listening to Pierre’s music is rejuvenating. SUMMARY:Marc McLaughlin with Jared Doherty
DESCRIPTION:Minors Allowed Accompanied by an Adult \nTICKETS: https://app.ticketowl.io/aCS6dbYjvdJ0dlx3/event/aLHwm9IdrQozb3y8 \nMarc McLaughlin is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from rural Newfoundland and Labrador\, now based in New Brunswick. Known for intricate melodies and introspective lyrics\, he blends indie pop and rock with a thoughtful approach. His 2023 EP\, I Don’t Want to Be Blue Anymore\, earned critical acclaim for its eloquent songwriting and quiet depth. His latest EP\, All I Can Say (February 2025)\, builds on his dreamy indie pop sound with aching sincerity. Marc has also shared the stage with and contributed to East Coast acts like Kelly McMichael\, Weary\, and Strongboy. \nJared Doherty is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Kamloops\, British Columbia. Adopting a psych-pop songwriting style that simultaneously takes cues from 60’s/70’s folk rock (The Byrds\, Joni Mitchell)\, more contemporary indie singer-songwriters (Mac DeMarco\, Alex G)\, and with a touch of noisy experimentalism (Neutral Milk Hotel)\, Jared strives to create lush psychedelic soundscapes that breathe around his melodic songs. Jared’s debut 7 track album ‘Small Window’ came out November 16\, 2018 on Kamloops-based Factotum Cassettes & Oddities. Lyrically\, the album deals with an exploration of perception; how viewing things through a small window can be equal parts rewarding and limiting\, melancholic and uplifting. \nTickets: https://app.ticketowl.io/aCS6dbYjvdJ0dlx3/event/aLHwm9IdrQozb3y8

SUMMARY:Mia Kelly and Blair Dunlop Canadian Tour
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS: https://app.ticketowl.io/aCS6dbYjvdJ0dlx3/event/aDy3-Nlx-sIGXxot \nDoors 7pm Show 7:30pm   Minors Allowed Accompanied By An Adult \nBy Popular Demand: Mia Kelly and Blair Dunlop Expand Canadian Tour into the West and Quebec/Ontario \n Following a sold-out tour in Ontario and Quebec this past February\, the acclaimed singer-songwriters hit the road again in Fall 2025\, with performances across Western Canada and select stops in Ontario and Quebec. Two of the most compelling voices in contemporary folk—Mia Kelly (Canada) and Blair Dunlop (UK)—continue their cross-continental collaboration this fall\, bringing their tour to Western Canada and select cities in Ontario and Quebec. Earlier this year\, Kelly and Dunlop performed to captivated audiences across Ontario and Quebec following a UK tour that saw Kelly as Dunlop’s special guest. This next leg of their Canadian journey builds on that success\, offering fans another opportunity to see each artist perform solo sets while celebrating their creative connection. After meeting at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City in 2023\, the two award-winning songwriters co-wrote Meaning Well\, featured on Kelly’s CFMA-nominated album To Be Clear (2024). Their on-stage chemistry and shared storytelling instincts have struck a chord with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Through the lush folk and earthy Americana of her sophomore record To Be Clear\, Mia Kelly establishes herself as a spellbinding voice\, blurring the lines between intimate memoir and compelling semi-fictional narratives. \n”the ten tracks that form “To Be Clear” perfectly showcase Mia’s talents – notably the ease with which she switches from tender balladeer to all-out blues rocker” – Great Dark Wonder. \n “Listening to Mia Kelly reminds me of the first time I heard a teenage Serena Ryder. The future is bright for this young artist.” – David Reed\, The Belleville Intelligencer \nPerforming in both French and English\, Kelly enthralls listeners with a distinctive blend of Folk\, Rock\, and Blues. Recently awarded Young Performer of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards\, Kelly is swiftly gaining recognition as a poetic lyricist and is making her mark in the Canadian folk music scene. She’s been covered by Blues Matters\, Fatea Magazine\, La Presse\, Le Droit\, Americana UK\, the AU Review\, Ottawa Citizen\, CBC\, Radio Canada\, Roots Music Canada\, Châtelaine\, and many more. She’s shared the stage with Aysanabee\, The Franklin Electric\, Daniel Champagne\, Jeremie Albino\, Julian Taylor\, Lloyd Spiegel and performed at numerous Canadian festivals including Ottawa Bluesfest\, Summerfolk\, Festival d’été de Québec\, Mission Folk Festival\, Ontario Festival of Small Halls\, Festival des Montgolfières\, Live from the Rock\, and the Winnipeg Folk Festival. \n“great stage presence and songs worth hearing” – Americana UK \n“You need to hear this voice.” – David Reed\, The Belleville Intelligencer \n“In my opinion\, Mia Kelly is the Sarah McLachlan of Generation Z.” – Le Droit (translated from French) \nBlair Dunlop is an award-winning British singer-songwriter and guitarist\, who has released 5 albums\, 2 EPs and toured around the globe. Blair burst onto the scene with his debut album ‘Blight & Blossom’ in 2012\, showcasing virtuosic musicianship and lyrical maturity\, and was awarded a prestigious BBC Folk Award in the wake of its release. A string of critically acclaimed albums followed\, along with headline tours and festival appearances in the UK\, Europe\, North America and Australia. ‘Gilded’ and ‘Notes from an Island’ were released on his own label and singles ‘The Egoist’ and ‘356’ received national playlist status on BBC Radio 2. Following this\, ‘Trails: Queensland’ (2021)\, Blair’s first live album\, documented a tour of rural Australia\, playing for isolated communities. From Glastonbury to Tuscany\, Queensland to Palestine\, Blair has brought his musicality and storytelling to audiences young and old. Album five\, Out of the Rain\, released on 24th May 2024 and consolidated Blair’s place in the UK Singer Songwriter sector. \n“A cult hero whose work is adored by those who come across it” Clash Music \n“An adept guitarist whose epic songwriting instincts prevail…” MOJO \nTICKETS: https://app.ticketowl.io/aCS6dbYjvdJ0dlx3/event/aDy3-Nlx-sIGXxot

DESCRIPTION:Minors Allowed Accompanied by an Adult \nDoors 7pm  Show 7:30 \nTickets $25 at the Door – $20 advance: etransfer cr@cravery.com \nPioneering slam poet C.R. Avery is a relentlessly creative musician\, author\, filmmaker and visual artist. Rumour is his early days were spent beatboxing East Vancouver’s streets while pushing sound equipment in a shopping cart. His sharp poetic lyrics uncover tough topics inside harmonica and beatbox solos in a rarefied experimental rock/blues/gospel/rap mash-up. For him “an album gives a song and its comrades legs to stand on. A composer gets them into the world where they get a running start and do their job\, so they grow wings\, weed\, or shoot lightning bolts in a bank while the bass player robs the vault.” His creations are impactful and empowering — “sometimes hate needs a kiss.” Have your mind blown and your soul reborn\, because while God’s away on business\, C.R. SUMMARY:Ben Caplan The Flood Tour
DESCRIPTION:Ben Caplan The Flood Tour\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS: https://app.ticketowl.io/aCS6dbYjvdJ0dlx3/event/aEvNnFpd36LuunTf\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBen Caplan has always defied easy categorization. With his deep\, commanding baritone and electrifying stage presence\, he merges the raw energy of diverse folk traditions with modern innovation. His music isn’t just performed; it’s experienced. Now\, with The Flood\, Caplan takes his artistry to new depths\, crafting an album that meditates on endings\, resilience\, and the art of carrying wisdom forward. Scheduled for release in May 2025\, The Flood is both timely and timeless. “The world is ending for someone all the time\,” Caplan muses. “But endings aren’t absolute. Cultures\, ecosystems\, civilizations—they evolve\, adapt. This album is about finding the pieces that survive and carrying them forward.” Musically\, The Flood is a collision of past and future. Melodically tilted towards the folk traditions of Eastern Europe\, the album reinvents these sounds with timeless lyrics and modern production. Clarinet melodies soar over pulsing synthesizers; grand pianos give way to sequenced rhythms. The result is an intricate sonic tapestry—both ancient and urgent. With nearly 2\,000 performances across 27 countries\, Caplan’s live shows are known for their raw energy and emotional depth. The Flood is designed with the stage in mind—its seamless transitions and dynamic arrangements promise an immersive concert experience. “Music holds space for people. My hope is that this project allows listeners to confront the grief of endings\, but also find joy in what’s ahead.” \n\n\n\n\n\nWith Special Guest\, Horse Funeral. Horse Funeral is music performed by Chris Bose\, writer\, multi-disciplinary artist\, musician\, curator and filmmaker. \nWith over 20 years of experience in documenting and amplifying Indigenous voices through digital storytelling. Chris’ background includes extensive work in film production\, sound recording\, and visual arts\, with a focus on capturing authentic narratives and preserving cultural heritage. \n\n\n\nTICKETS: https://app.ticketowl.io/aCS6dbYjvdJ0dlx3/event/aEvNnFpd36LuunTf
