Drawing from a wide variety of influences\, their music has been described as “heady and psychedelic” and “Satie meets Radiohead”. \nBased on Hirzer and Valdepeñas’ track of the same name\, Crystal Clear is an innovative and gripping music and dance film. It follows a young woman who undertakes a visceral journey through her own psyche as she reflects on both her actions and the events that will decide her fate. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Braden Dereniwski\, it features captivating performances by Kelsie Vanstone and Ashley Mae Johnston\, with choreography by Yukichi Hattori. We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and Calgary Arts Development for this film. \nFeaturing and inspired by Hirzer’s track Daphne and Desmond\, off his recent album Relaxer Distractor\, In Tandem is a short film shot on Super 8 by awardwinning filmmaker Vicki Van Chau. It is a love letter to the meaningful spaces between two cities\, where Hirzer found sources of inspiration\, nostalgia and the feeling of home. Recently it received the ‘Best Experimental’ award at the 2024 Edmonton Short Film Festival. This film is supported by the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society and the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers. \nTraversing the multi-sensory landscape\, Canadian artist Daniela Cinel O’Fee creates immersive experiences to investigate the flux between acoustic and visual realms. With a Bachelor of Music degree from University of Victoria\, Daniela has worked as a pianist\, director\, composer and educator in British Columbia for over forty years. The band released their fourth record ‘Meadow 6’ via Earth Libraries and Divine Bovine Records in October 2024. Mother Sun toured Japan in support of the album in September and October 2024\, playing 14 shows in small venues around the country\, with Canadian tour dates to follow in spring 2025. The band has toured western Canada consistently since 2018\, appearing at numerous festivals such as Khatsalano (Vancouver)\, Big Winter Classic (Calgary) Between the Peaks (Rossland)\, and Treefort (Boise\, Idaho). The band has had several songs appear on Showtime TV series Shameless and shared stages with Dead Ghosts\, Vinyl Williams\, the Sadies\, the Breathing Effect and Ghostwoman. \nSam Tudor is both an individual and a project involving a group of friends in Canada. The underpinnings of the songs are genre-less; jazz players join forces with Eno inspired beats while acoustic guitars meet distorted synths. What unifies the project is Tudor’s distinct voice: a sandy\, melancholic narrator\, leaning in close with confessional and cathartic writing. Since then\, Ayla has performed for thousands of people around the world\, touring extensively with her previous band Calpurnia between the ages of 16 and 18 and more recently with her alternative R&B band Ludic with brothers Max & Rhett Cunningham. Ludic has opened for Grammy award-winning artists Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes) and Snarky Puppy\, among others\, and released their first full EP in 2022. Known for his warm tones and emotive live shows\, Barry’s music explores love\, loss\, and the complexity of relationships\, often with a balance of energetic theatrics\, vulnerability\, and musical risk-taking.\n \nJared Doherty is a musician based out of the desert city of “Kamloops” BC Canada. Jared writes impressionistic\, and sometimes character-driven songs exploring themes of nature\, isolation\, modern life and relationships\, and mental health. Often performing as singer and guitarist in art rock band Mother Sun\, Jared records solo music at home borrowing freely from indie rock\, folk\, dream pop\, jazz and psychedelia.
