Last time out we had an unfortunate flat tire which forced us to miss our Kamloops show… But we are SO back and out for redemption! We cant wait to see you all very soon!! \n\nIn a world full of micro-influencers\, digital grifters\, and spon-con hucksters\, Vancouver quartet Bealby Point offers a simple promise: what you see is what you get. Formed in 2018\, the indie rockers have built a sterling reputation thanks to their polished live performances and intricate\, approachable songwriting. Drawing inspiration from alt-rock icons including The Strokes\, Weezer\, Young The Giant\, and Red Hot Chili Peppers\, the boys’ signature sound centers on big hooks\, big solos\, and even bigger grooves. While the path forward has been at times rocky\, with the four members struggling to navigate the realities of working-class creative life in one of the world’s most expensive cities\, the challenges have only brought them closer together. Brotherly love is the basis for everything Bealby Point does\, and their recent   sessions are no exception. Produced by their trusted sound engineer JJ Heath\, the band’s new material was recorded at the small but stylish studio\, Phony Records. Situated across the inlet from where they grew up riding bikes and sneaking beers\, the new material\, recorded in early 2024\, bridges the gap between fantasy and nostalgia\, with Armstrong offering a cinematic perspective on the passing of time. Indeed\, songs like “Fairytale” and “Better Off Eventually” find Bealby Point basking in a summer sunset\, but also increasingly aware of the long shadow that it casts. Since 2022\, the band has built a devoted following in the Greater Vancouver Area\, playing sold-out shows at several well-known venues including The Fox Cabaret (April 2022\, March 2023)\, Fortune Sound Club (August 2022)\, The Rickshaw Theatre (April 2023)\, and The Pearl (September 2023). They have also taken their show on the road in 2024\, playing 9 shows on their self booked and promoted Western Canadian “What’s the Point” Tour including a showcase at NXNE in Toronto\, and have opened for exciting acts including\, The Jins\, and MONOWHALES. As of July 2024\, they have amassed 1\,207\,422 streams on Spotify. With their foundation firmly entrenched in their home province\, the band will embark on the next chapter of its career by touring Western Canada for the second time in March 2025. Along the way\, they will visit their namesake\, just north of Nelson\, B.C.\, to draw inspiration for future material. He’s been featured multiple times on CBC’s The Debaters and was a cast member in Mary Walsh’s Canada It’s Complicated. His debut album\, Live at Wee Johnny’s was released in 2020 and can regularly be heard on SiriusXM. \nCLIFTON CREMO (MI’KMAW)\nSince beginning his career in stand-up comedy\, Clifton Cremo has been entertaining Canadian audiences with his deft brand of storytelling and wry absurdism. Clifton’s perspective on his Mi’kmaw upbringing and his unique outlook on First Nations issues brought him national attention by showing that no matter the divisiveness of an issue\, humor can be a common ground. \nClifton was part of Rise Together with host Ron James – a Hurricane Fiona fundraiser that raised over $100\,000 for the Cape Breton Red Cross. Clifton has also appeared at the Halifax Comedy Festival for CBC television in 2022 and 2023 in addition to being a part of their Best of the Fest tour in 2021. Clifton has also appeared on CBC radio’s Laugh Out Loud and CBC’s The Debaters. In March of 2023 he recorded with Just For Laughs Originals as part of a compilation album “Divorced Robot Arms” and has appeared at the Just For Laughs festival in Toronto and Vancouver. Recently\, he was also a writer on Season 31 of CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Clifton has also performed alongside top comedians including opening for Kenny vs. Spenny\, Joe Pera\, and Tom Green. \nWhether he’s onstage at a comedy club\, a local bar\, or even a funeral (seriously)\, Clifton always manages to bring the laughs. \nDAKOTA RAY HEBERT (DENE)\nDakota Ray Hebert (she/they) is from Meadow Lake\, SK\, and a proud member of English River First Nation. Dakota is currently based in Saskatoon\, SK\, where she and her sweetheart have recently opened Art Bar\, the city’s first formal comedy club. \nDakota has two comedy albums out (I’LL GIVE YOU AN INDIAN ACT and TRAILER TREASURE)\, both are available anywhere you buy and stream music. She just got back from Los Angeles where she worked alongside Modern Family’s Julie Bowen. While down south\, Dakota performed at The Comedy Store (via open mic potluck)\, Upright Citizens Brigade\, Flappers Comedy Club\, and The Hollywood Improv Lab. \nDakota has performed at all three Just For Laughs festivals in Vancouver\, Toronto\, and Montreal\, as well as Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2022. You can watch some of her earlier work on New Wave of Standup and Comedy Night with Rick Mercer (CBC Gem).
